KV TechLegal

How this website handles your information

This policy covers the website at kvtechlegal.com. It does not cover information held about clients in the course of a retainer, which is governed by the terms of that engagement and by professional obligations of confidence.

01 What we collect

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, organisation (if given) and message you enter are sent to team@kvtechlegal.com.

If you write to us by email or telephone, we hold what you choose to tell us. We ask that first messages leave out confidential and privileged material.

02 What we do not collect

This site does not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies or social media pixels, and does not build a profile of visitors. It stores one setting in your browser's session storage to remember that you accepted the disclaimer, and that setting is cleared when you close the tab.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, and its animation scripts are loaded from jsDelivr, a public content delivery network. As with any website, these services receive your IP address when your browser requests a page or file. Fonts and images are served from this website.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and page views and to measure how quickly pages load. It does not set cookies, does not use your browser's storage and does not follow you across other websites, and the reports we see are totals, such as the number of visits from a country or to a page, not records about individual visitors.

03 Why we hold it

Enquiries are held so that we can reply, assess whether we are the right firm for the matter, and run the conflict checks a law practice is obliged to run before taking instructions. Applications for work are held so that we can consider you when a vacancy opens.

04 Who else sees it

Enquiries are seen by the partners and by staff who support them. We do not sell information and we do not share it for marketing. Our email, document storage and contact form are provided by service providers under contract, some of which store information outside India. Access is restricted to the firm.

We disclose information where the law or a court requires it, and where you ask us to.

05 How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not become matters are kept for three years, which allows us to answer conflict questions and to recognise a returning correspondent, and are then deleted. Where an enquiry becomes a matter, the file is retained under the firm's retention schedule for the period applicable to that kind of work. Applications for work are kept for two years.

06 Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and what we have done with it, ask for corrections, ask for erasure where we are no longer required to retain it, withdraw any consent you have given, and nominate a person to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated.

Write to team@kvtechlegal.com to make a request or raise a grievance. We will respond within the period the law allows. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

07 Changes and contact

We will amend this policy when our practice changes, and the date above will change with it. Questions about it go to team@kvtechlegal.com, or to KV TechLegal, No.8, Sivaprakasam Street, T.Nagar, Chennai 600017.
